Procedure
This task consists of two parts.
In the first part, participants have time to explore twelve myths about programming. The individual myths are distributed around the room and participants can move between stations at their own pace and in any order they choose.
First, they should read through the statement and briefly collect and reflect on their own thoughts. They then visit the accompanying sources, which challenge the respective prejudices and give participants further food for thought.
In the second part, a joint reflection takes place in a plenary session. The impressions gained from the sources should be collected and, based on these, all myths should be briefly discussed. Depending on the needs and focus of the group, individual topics can be selected for the final discussion.
Preparation
- The materials for each station (working materials 1–12) and the linked sources must be printed out and the stations prepared. The myths could be pinned to a display board, leaving space for participants to write down their thoughts.
- The sources for research and information should be sent to the participants as a list.
Notes on moderation
- The gallery walk serves to provide participants with food for thought that corresponds to their respective levels of knowledge. They do not have to deal with all twelve myths or read all the linked articles in full. Participants should be encouraged to focus on individual myths according to their interests.
