Digital communication: From zero to hero!
The aim of this task is for participants to learn and understand the basic criteria that are relevant for selecting applications, especially communication tools, such as data minimization, encryption, and functionality. Participants will also learn tips and tricks as well as netiquette in digital communication.

Procedure
This task consists of two parts.
The task can be integrated into a narrative scenario: The Neufreiraumstadt youth club has to switch to digital due to a pandemic. Since everything has to happen very quickly, the boss puts together three working groups to prepare for this step:
- Working group 1: Video conferencing – how do I choose the right tool? (Working material 1)
- Working group 2: Team messenger – how do I choose the right tool? (Working material 2)
- Working group 3: Suddenly online communication – but how? (Working material 3)
The working groups use the relevant working materials and internet research to design a Metaplan wall. They highlight the criteria and tips that they consider most important for working in a digital space.
In the second part, the individual groups present their content in a gallery walk so that the other groups can familiarize themselves with it independently.
Preparation
- Worksheets 1–3 must be printed out and the snippets from worksheet 3 cut out.
Notes on moderation
- The youth club scenario can be emphasized to varying degrees. If the participants themselves work in a youth club or similar, it may be useful to emphasize the scenario more strongly. If the majority of participants work in other contexts, it may be useful to adapt the tasks accordingly.
- In working group 3, depending on the time available, the working materials can be reduced or participants can be encouraged to discuss and add to the collection of best practices.
