Procedure
This task consists of three parts.
In the first part, participants work with the facilitator to develop a definition of their own digital identity. Suggestions for the facilitator can be found in the thematic introduction to this module. In addition, participants can listen to the section on digital identity in podcast episode 11 on competency area 2 at <https://www.digitalejugendarbeit.de/diskutieren/>.
In the second part, a reflection walk takes place. This can be done alone or in pairs. Participants switch independently between the individual stimulus and reflection questions and decide for themselves whether the respective question is interesting to them. The aim of the reflection walk is not to answer all the questions. Rather, participants should focus on the questions that resonate with them.
In the third part, participants can write a letter or email to their future selves, e.g., using the tools mailnudge.de or zukunftsmail.com. In it, they can reflect on the following questions, among others:
- I value these aspects of my (digital) identity:
- I would like to develop these aspects of my (digital) identity further:
- I want to think more about these aspects:
- I need the following information:
- I intend to do the following specific things:
Preparation
- For the first part, a short input must be prepared or a few aspects determined that are to be discussed.
- The reflection questions must be written down on paper and posted in the seminar area.
Notes on moderation
- It is a good idea to post the impulse or reflection questions in several rooms or, if available, in the outdoor area.
- Not all reflection or impulse questions need to be used. A selection can be made depending on the focus and needs of the group.
- As an alternative to the “letter to myself” method, a final discussion is also possible.
Extension
- As part of the reflection, participants can take a screenshot on their cell phone that fits one of the questions and send it to the moderator. The images can then be used to create a collage.
