Procedure

This task consists of two parts.

In the first part, participants are divided into three groups in which they gather information about various tools for digital collaboration. The tools in each group are assigned to one of the following topics:

• Project management
• Surveys & feedback
• E-participation

The tools are provided to participants along with a list of questions that they should answer individually for each tool during their research. To collect information about the respective tools, the individual groups use various collaborative writing programs so that participants can work on a document simultaneously within their groups. As an additional requirement, participants may be instructed to communicate with each other only via the document.

In the second part, the results of the group work are briefly presented in a plenary session. Participants also reflect on their practical work with their respective collaborative writing programs.

The documents can then be exported and made available to all groups for seminar documentation.

Preparation

• The three separate online documents with the tools to be researched and the prompt questions (under each tool individually) for the research must be created. Instructions for this can be found in Training Material 1.

Notes on moderation

• The prompt questions for the group research are for guidance only and do not need to be answered in detail.
• Participants should be encouraged to try out the tools during their research if possible.
• It is a good idea to use at least one of the feedback tools researched in the group work in the reflection process.
